The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed an imported case of Japanese encephalitis involving a 22-year-old Tai Kok Tsui woman, the first case reported this year.
She travelled to Guangdong June 9 to 22 and developed fever and headache on June 24. She was admitted to Caritas Medical Centre two days later and discharged July 10.
Her husband and two children have no symptoms.
