Seized meat: A man has been arrested after attempting to bring 270kg of illicit pork through Lok Ma Chau checkpoint.

A man has been arrested after attempting to bring 270kg of illicit pork through Lok Ma Chau checkpoint.

 

Food & Environmental Hygiene and Customs & Excise officers intercepted a car about 8am and found 11 bags of pork without health certificates.

 

Bringing uncertified meat and poultry into Hong Kong warrants a $50,000 fine and six months in jail.
