Snack salmonella warning issued
*
Centre for Food Safety

The Centre for Food Safety warns consumers to avoid Robert's American Gourmet Veggie Booty snack food, which is suspected to be contaminated with salmonella.

The American snack is sold in flexible plastic foil bags. US authorities have warned consumers not to eat the product. The centre also appealed to the trade to stop selling it. It is closely monitoring the situation and will contact the US authorities for more information.

Salmonella is a pathogen that can cause gastrointestinal discomfort, such as abdominal pain and diarrhoea.
