*

Financial assistance of $3.36 million has been granted to the family of fireman Wong Ka-hei who died in a Tsuen Wan industrial building fire on May 22.

Chairman of the Committee on Financial Assistance for Family Members of those who Sacrifice their Lives to Save Others Dr York Chow said the aid represents the Government's recognition of his gallant act.

"Mr Wong's selfless devotion to the community, together with the high level of professionalism displayed, commands our greatest respect. We sincerely hope that the assistance provided can give some relief to his family members at this difficult time," Dr Chow said.
