Marine fish supply to resume Wednesday
*

The Health, Welfare & Food Bureau has been informed by the Guangdong Entry-Exit Inspection & Quarantine Bureau that the supply of Mainland marine fish to Hong Kong will resume December 13.

Meanwhile, the Food & Environmental Hygiene Department says it will make every effort to combat fish products coming to Hong Kong from improper channels.

The department and the Customs & Excise Department had, after days of planning, stepped up inspections at Lau Fau Shan and intercepted today a Mainland boat loaded with fish and crabs. The marine products came with manifests.

The two departments, together with the Police, will step up surveillance at Lau Fau Shan. Fish products from dubious sources will be marked and sealed upon interception.
