Imported Dengue fever case confirmed

*
HPC logo (Eng version)

The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed Dengue fever in a 31-year-old man, bringing the year's total number of cases to 15, all imported.

The patient travelled to Thailand from June 14 to 23 and came down with fever, eye pain, dizziness and rash on June 25. He was admitted to Ruttonjee Hospital on June 28 and has recovered.

People should stay alert to the threat of Dengue fever and take measures against mosquito breeding. Travellers should wear long-sleeved tops and trousers, and use insect repellent. If feeling unwell after returning from abroad, consult a doctor.
