Another suspected Norovirus case reported

One more worker in a Queen Elizabeth Hospital ward has come down with diarrhoea. She is now on sick leave.

 

Since June 16 there have been six patients and three staff in the ward developing symptoms. All are in stable condition. Three have tested positive for Norovirus while two are negative. The remainder have test results pending.

 

Meanwhile, three more patients in a paediatric ward of the hospital have come down with diarrhoea. Since June 14, there have been eleven patients developing the symptoms. Six have been tested positive for Norovirus while three are negative. The remainder have test results pending.

 

In Castle Peak Hospital there was no new case reported today. Two of the five patients who developed the symptoms have been tested positive for Norovirus. One with chronic illness died today. A coroner's inquest will be held.
