More suspected Norovirus cases reported

One more female patient in a Queen Elizabeth Hospital ward has come down with vomiting and diarrhoea. The 76-year-old is being treated in isolation.

 

Since June 19 there have been six patients and two staff in the hospital developing symptoms. All are in stable condition and laboratory test results are pending.

 

Meanwhile, eight patients aged three months to two years in a paediatric ward of the hospital have come down with diarrhoea since June 14. Seven are being treated in isolation while the other one has recovered and been discharged. Four have tested positive for Norovirus. The remainder have test results pending.

 

In Castle Peak Hospital there are five male patients and a staff member who have come down with vomiting and diarrhoea symptoms since June 20. All are in stable condition and five have been transferred to Tuen Mun Hospital for isolated treatment. Laboratory test results are pending.
