None of the eight dead feral pigeons collected at the junction of Leighton and Wong Nai Chung Roads carried the H5 virus, the Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department says.

The birds were collected yesterday after being found dead by passers-by.

The chance of pigeons transmitting the virus is considered relatively low, the department said. It urged the public to observe good personal hygiene and avoid contact with wild birds.
