Sports delegation to visit Australia
*

Secretary for Home Affairs and Chairman of the Sports Commission Dr Patrick Ho will lead a delegation on a study tour to Melbourne today.

The delegation will visit the Telstra Dome - a stadium with a retractable roof, the Rod Laver and Vodafone Arenas - venues for the Australian Tennis Open, the Melbourne Sport & Aquatic Centre - one of the largest multi-sports centres in Australia, and the Melbourne Cricket Ground - the main venue for the 1956 Olympics.

The Sports Commission delegation will see sports events like the Australian Open, the Ocean Race and some community and youth activities. They will tour the Victorian Institute of Sport. They will also meet with the sports and recreation authorities of Victoria and some non-government sports organisations.

The delegation will return January 21.
