One more typhoid fever case confirmed
*
Centre for Health Protection

A 13-year-old boy living in Yuen Long has yielded positive results for typhoid fever, making him the third confirmed case in his family.

The boy developed fever, abdominal pain and vomiting on November 25 and was admitted to Tuen Mun Hospital on December 5.

Investigations by the Centre for Health Protection earlier revealed that two of his siblings, a nine-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy, were confirmed to have typhoid fever. His other brother, also aged 10, developed similar symptoms and laboratory test results are still pending.

The four children, all in Tuen Mun Hospital, are stable. The centre's investigations are continuing.
