A 50-year-old patient in Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital's male psychiatric ward has developed upper respiratory infection symptoms, the ward's eighth case.
The patient has been transferred to an isolation ward in stable condition. He tested positive for influenza A.
One of the other patients tested positive for Influenza A, while the remainder have tested negative for influenza A and B.
Other patients in the ward are under close surveillance and infection control measures have been stepped up. Admission to the ward has been suspended.
The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority and the Centre for Health Protection for follow-up action.
