A wayward tenant has been evicted by the Housing Authority for allotting 17 penalty points under the Marking Scheme for Tenancy Enforcement.
He allotted points for spitting, obstructing corridors and staircases with sundry items, and accumulating rubbish inside the flat causing a hygiene nuisance and offensive odours. He was evicted today after losing an appeal on October 28.
It is the scheme's fourth eviction. The first two were granted a discretionary amendment to the eviction by a tribunal. The third surrendered their flat.
More than 4,000 points-allotted cases have been recorded and 67 households are carrying up to 15 points for misdeeds. Littering and spitting are the most frequently committed offences with 6,566 and 1,208 cases reported.
