Signature support: Secretary for Health, Welfare & Food Dr York Chow signs up to support the hand-washing campaign.
*

Hong Kong will support the World Health Organisation's hand-washing campaign to counter infectious disease.

The pledge was delivered by Secretary for Health, Welfare & Food Dr York Chow today.

Dr Chow said Hong Kong is committed to promoting good hygiene. To heighten awareness, the Department of Health will launch a new promotion campaign. Special emphasis will be placed on community settings like schools, shopping malls and food premises.

Promotion materials like pamphlets, posters and stickers will be produced, and multimedia channels like websites and hotlines will be used.
