One child has tested positive for para-influenza virus among six sick residents of the Caritas Medical Centre's Developmental Disabilities Unit.

The five boys and one girl, aged eight to 15, came down with fever on September 23. They have been transferred to an isolation ward and are in stable condition.

Infection control measures have been stepped up and other residents are under close surveillance. Visiting arrangements remain normal.

The new case has been reported to the Hospital Authority and the Centre for Health Protection.
