*

A 70-year-old man suffering from Legionnaires' disease is in critical condition in Queen Elizabeth hospital. He is the year's sixth case.

The Wong Tai Sin resident travelled to the Mainland from August 3 to 15. He came down with a fever, a cough and shortness of breath on August 25 and was admitted to hospital four days later. His family has no symptoms.

Of the six cases, two have been classified local while four, including today's case, are pending classification.

There were four Legionnaires' cases reported in 2002, three in 2003 and three last year.
