Centre for Health Protection Controller Leung Pak-yin is leading a team of medical and public health professionals on a trip to Hanoi to attend a World Health Organisation meeting on avian flu.

During the three-day meeting from May 10, experts on avian flu, including those from countries in which it has spread to people, will share experiences and lessons learned in the clinical and public health management of the highly pathogenic infectious disease with a view to strengthening collaboration.

The Hong Kong delegation comprises University of Hong Kong Prof Yuen Kwok-yung; Haven of Hope Hospital's  Dr Chan Kin-sang; and Government Community Medicine  Dr Thomas Tsang.

Also attending the meeting will be experts from the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, the WHO and clinicians and public health physicians from Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam.
