Budding musicians aged 10 to 25 may apply for the 2005 Hong Kong Youth Music Camp to be held at the Sai Kung Outdoor Recreation Centre in July and August.
The music camp, presented by the Leisure & Cultural Services Department Music Office, is an annual event offering young musicians the opportunity to receive training from renowned local, overseas and Mainland musicians and share experiences with other budding musicians in a scenic, natural environment.
Two camps will be held from July 31 to August 7 and August 8 to 13. Campers will take part in one of the intensive training programmes in band, orchestra or chorus as well as a balanced programme of musical and recreational activities designed for relaxation and development of musical skills. Two concerts will be held at the conclusion of the camp to showcase the campers' achievements.
The camp fee per person is $550. Day camp is also available for organisations and groups to share in the music and recreational activities of the campers. The camp fee per person per day is $36.
Application forms are available from the Music Office's website. The deadline for applications for the residential camp and day camp are April 25 and May 18.
