Catch the mountaineering safety show

*
Civil Aid Service

Autumn is a good season for mountaineering, but safety considerations are essential to enjoying a good day's hiking.

To promote mountaineering safety and prevent accidents, the Civil Aid Service will organise a Mountain Activities Safety Promotion Day tomorrow.

From 11am to 5pm, the free event will be held at the service's training centre at 204 Argyle Street, adjacent to Kowloon City Police Station.

It will feature exhibitions and demonstrations. The service, the Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department, Auxiliary Medical Service, Government Flying Service and the Hiking Association, will stage an exhibition on hiking equipment, rescue equipment and offer hands-on experience.

The 30-minute demonstration on mountain rescue and casualty evacuation will be held hourly from 11am to 4pm.

Enquiries can be made on 2805 6038.
