Inspiration garnered from people's life experiences is being sought to raise AIDS awareness.
The Red Ribbon Centre is inviting participation in the 0.2-Most Inspiring Persons in Hong Kong AIDS Epidemic Poll, in the hope awareness can be raised by reflecting on the lessons learned by others.
The centre said in the past 20 years, there has been a better understanding of the disease and changes in HIV research, treatment and care, acceptance levels and sufferers' quality of life.
Individuals and organisations can nominate inspiring people in AIDS-related activities between September 20 and October 2 on this website, by faxing 2505 3479 or by mailing co-organiser the Ming Pao Marketing Department, 15th floor, Block A, Ming Pao Industrial Centre, 18 Ka Yip Street, Chai Wan.
A vetting panel will be formed to select the 10 most inspiring people. The polling phase will run between October 19 and November 5, and will be conducted online at this website. Poll results will be announced mid-November. Awards will be presented on World AIDS Day, December 1.
