The Department of Health has urged people to guard against mosquitoes after another imported case of Dengue fever was confirmed today.
The latest case involves a 31-year-old man who got a fever on November 10. He was admitted to Prince of Wales Hospital on the 14th and discharged on the 19th. He was in a Southeast Asian country from November 2 to 6.
This brings the total number of Dengue cases to 45, including one local case.
The Department of Health reminds people to:
* put all used cans and bottles into covered dustbins;
* change water for plants weekly and leave no water in the saucers underneath flower pots;
* cover tightly all water containers, wells and water storage tanks; and,
* keep all drains free from blockage.
Travellers should:
* wear long-sleeved clothes and trousers;
* use insect repellent over exposed parts of the body; and,
* use mosquito screens or nets when their room is not air-conditioned.
