Eco-driving campaign launched

*

The Electrical & Mechanical Services Department has launched an eco-driving games fair to raise awareness on energy and fuel conservation.

Opening the fair in Lung Cheung Mall, Wong Tai Sin, today Under Secretary for the Environment Dr Poon Kit said energy conservation requires joint efforts from the Government, the private sector and the public.

"Reducing fuel consumption of vehicles can certainly contribute to a reduction in the emission of carbon dioxide and greenhouse gases," she said.

The highlight of the campaign will be a fuel economy competition for private cars on December 14, inviting participation from different categories of vehicles.

The department will also arrange two briefing sessions at the Science Museum for October 13 and 15, in which experts will share fuel saving tips.
