Water quality 'good' at 25 beaches

*
環境保護署

The Environmental Protection Department has rated water quality at 25 beaches "good" and eight "fair" for this weekend.

Compared with last week, Clear Water Bay Second Beach has upgraded from fair to good. Big Wave Bay and Cafeteria Old Beach have been changed from good to fair.

Seven gazetted beaches - Anglers', Approach, Casam, Gemini, Hoi Mei Wan, Lido and Ting Kau - are closed to swimmers year-round because of poor water quality.

Many beaches are likely to be more polluted than their grades suggest during and after periods of heavy rain. Bathers should avoid swimming at beaches for up to three days after a storm or heavy rainfall.

Click here to see updates on beach water quality or call the beach hotline 2511 6666.
