Mainland companies' interest in HK grows

*

Strong cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and the Central Government Liaison Office was an essential driver in helping InvestHK better serve Mainland companies interested in Hong Kong.

Director-General of Investment Promotion Mike Rowse today made the statement during a spring reception held jointly with the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association.

He thanked Chinese companies' business leaders for their continued support and long-term commitment to Hong Kong.

Association chairman Qin Xiao hailed Hong Kong as an excellent partner for Mainland companies seeking outward investment opportunities.

Over the past three years, the department has helped more than 110 Mainland companies set up operations in the city, and a rising trend is expected over the next five years, added Mr Rowse.

In mid-March a new facility was opened in Shanghai while another will open in Chengdu next week. Last year, InvestHK's Guangzhou office was expanded to almost twice its original size.
