The March issue of Hong Kong Monthly Digest of Statistics is now on sale, with an article on the economic contribution and employment situation in 2003 in respect of Hong Kong's four key industries - financial services, trading and logistics, tourism, and producer and professional services.

Analyses of the economic contribution and employment situation in 2002 in respect of the four key industries were published in the March 2004 edition. The latest article is an updated version incorporating data on the four key industries for 2003.

In 2003, the value-added for the four key industries amounted to $646.3 trillion, accounting for 54.9% of Gross Domestic Product. The number of people engaged was 1,428,400 in 2003, accounting for 44.3% of total employment.

The digest contains another notable feature article Seasonally Adjusted Consumer Price Indices.
