Business IT survey launches

Census & Statistics Department

The Annual Survey on Information Technology Usage & Penetration in the Business Sector for 2005 has launched.

 

The Census & Statistics Department says the survey aims to collect information relating to IT usage and penetration in the business sector, which will be useful for reference in the development of IT strategy in Hong Kong.

 

The survey is conducted under the Census & Statistics Ordinance. Information to be sought in the survey includes:

* general information of the establishment;

* personal computer usage;

* Internet usage;

* website usage;

* electronic business and electronic commerce;

* budget for IT;

* IT security; and,

* wireless and mobile services and technology usage.

 

The collected information relating to individual establishments will be kept in strict confidence. Only aggregate information, which does not reveal details of individual establishments, will be released.

 

The management of all selected establishments should return the completed questionnaire by April 29. For enquiries call 3579 8762.
