Everyone is welcome to join celebrations marking the 11th anniversary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on July 1.
Celebrations will kick off with a flag-raising ceremony at Golden Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai at 8am. Chief Executive Donald Tsang and senior government officials will join 2,500 guests and 1,000 members of the public at the ceremony.
The Police silver band and a choir will perform at the ceremony, followed by the disciplined services sea parade and fly-past. Four plasma television screens will broadcast the festivities.
Police will designate the square and its vicinity a restricted zone to ensure smooth running of the ceremony. Only those with valid passes can enter.
Mr Tsang will later attend a reception at the Convention & Exhibition Centre. About 1,200 guests, including members of the Executive and Legislative Councils, consular corps, heads of missions in Hong Kong, senior Government officials and members of community sectors will attend.
