Road accident claims equestrian volunteer's life
*

Secretary for Home Affairs Tsang Tak-sing and Equestrian Events (Hong Kong) of the Games of the XXIX Olympiad Company Limited's Chief Executive Officer Lam Woon-Kwong have expressed deep sorrow upon equestrian volunteer Nancy Tang's death.

They offered deepest condolences to her family.

The 24-year-old was injured in a road accident near Fo Tan MTR station on June 21 on her way to a volunteer training programme at the nearby Olympic venue. She was admitted to the Prince of Wales Hospital, but passed away at 8.25pm today.

She was a team leader in the Media Services division during the Good Luck Beijing 10th Anniversary Cup Equestrian Event last August, and had been assigned a team leader again for the Beijing 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Equestrian Events this summer.

Mr Lam praised Miss Tang as an exceptional young woman who had displayed outstanding leadership qualities.
