The Food & Environmental Hygiene Department has reminded its staff to handle personal data with caution after one of its staff inadvertently e-mailed a document containing information about the department's work-injury cases to a complainant.

The document in question contains information about the work injuries of about 170 department staff. No personal data of any member of the public is involved.

The incident has been reported to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data. The department have sent letters to the staff members concerned informing them of the incident and offered apologies.
