$4.6m in relief grants approved
*

Another $4.61 million will be granted to two relief agencies to help victims of the Mainland earthquake and the Myanmar cyclone.

The Disaster Relief Fund today will grant $3.51 million to Oxfam and $740,000 to the Cedar Fund for them to undertake relief projects for earthquake victims in Gansu, Shaanxi and Sichuan. This brings the total grants for these victims to $332.35 million.

The Cedar Fund will also be granted $560,000 to provide relief to Myanmar's cyclone victims.

The agencies will submit evaluation reports and audited accounts on the use of the grants when the relief projects end to ensure the money is used properly.
