A third nominee has been named for the Legislative Council Hong Kong Island geographical constituency by-election. Retired civil servant Anson Chan has no political affiliation.

The other two nominees are barrister Lee Wing-kin and Savantas Policy Institute Chairperson Regina Ip. Their nominations were submitted on October 17, the first day of the nomination period, which will run until October 31.

The Returning Officer is processing the nominations and will determine their validity. Voting will take place on December 2 if there is more than one validly nominated candidate. Click here for more details about the by-election.
