Honours list

277 people to receive honours
*

The Chief Executive has accorded awards to 277 people in this year's Honours List. Charles Lee, Leo Lee and Tung Chee Hwa are Grand Bauhinia Medallists while policemen Chu Chun-kwok, Wilson Sin and the late Tsang Kwok-hang have been awarded the Gold Medal for Bravery.

 

Of the 277 awardees, six are Gold, 21 Silver and 47 Bronze Bauhinia Star recipients. Eleven have been awarded the Distinguished and 49 the Meritorious Service Medal for the disciplined services and the Independent Commission Against Corruption, and 61 the Medal of Honour. Forty-two and 34 people have been awarded the Chief Executive's Commendation for Community Service and for Government-Public Service.

 

The honours recognise their significant contribution to Hong Kong, and their dedicated public and community service. The presentation ceremony will be held in October.

 

Meanwhile, 72 people have been appointed Justices of the Peace, with 38 non-official JPs and 34 official.
