Election registers to open for inspection
*

The Registration & Electoral Office will release the 2006 provisional registers from June 15 to 29  for public inspection. The registers show the number of voters for three constituencies has increased by 4,700 to 3,621,800.

Voters for Election Committee sub-sectors have risen by 18,000 to 220,300, while the electors in functional constituencies are up 16,400 to 215,500.

The geographical constituencies - the biggest of the three - have seen a slight fall in electors, by 29,700 to 3,186,000.

More statistics about the registers will be available at the voter registration website tomorrow.

Those listed in the registers should report any change in address and registration particulars to the electoral office by June 29. Final election registers will be announced by July 25.
