Tech tour: Chief Executive Donald Tsang visits the displays after officiating at the opening ceremony of the "Science in the Public Service" campaign.
*

Through the development and application of science and technology, Government departments have been able to provide world-class services, Chief Executive Donald Tsang says.

Mr Tsang addressed the launch ceremony of the "Science in the Public Service" campaign today.

The year-long campaign is jointly organised by 30 government departments in collaboration with the Hong Kong Institution of Science and Hong Kong Education City.

Through a series of public-education activities, the campaign aims to let people know more about government departments' scientific achievements and the application of science and technology in providing services to the public.

A five-day exhibit at the Central Library's Exhibition Gallery in Causeway Bay ends on Tuesday. It features display panels, interactive exhibits and games featuring government departments' scientific achievements.

Science lectures will be held at the library on January 14 and 15.
