A grant of $1.5 million from the Disaster Relief Fund has been approved for the Mercy Corps to provide emergency relief to earthquake victims in Pakistan.
This is further to a disbursement of $3.5 million in October for emergency relief to earthquake victims in Pakistan. It takes the total value of grants for South Asian earthquake victims to $5 million.
To ensure the money is used properly, the fund's advisory committee will ask the organisation to submit an evaluation report and audited accounts after the relief project has been completed.
