CE offers condolences to Iran quake victims

*

Chief Executive Tung Chee Hwa has expressed Hong Kong's deepest sympathy and condolences to Iran's earthquake victims.

Mr Tung said he was deeply grieved to learn of the tragic loss of tens of thousands of lives in the strong earthquake that hit the country yesterday.

"I would like to speak for the whole community of Hong Kong to express our deepest sympathy and condolences," he said.

A disaster relief fund has been set up to provide swift response to international appeal for disaster relief. Applications will be processed promptly to provide emergency relief and assistance.
