Work on constitutional review starts: CS

*

Arrangements are being made with the HK & Macau Affairs Office to discuss the principles on constitutional development as laid down in the Basic Law. At the same time, all sectors of the community have been invited to air views on the issue.

Chief Secretary for Administration Donald Tsang said a request was sent to the office yesterday regarding meetings with Mainland officials.

He hoped that meetings with the relevant authorities of the Central Government can be arranged as soon as possible to discuss the issue.

Mr Tsang said the task force will have dialogue with both the Central Government and Hong Kong people at the same time to garner views.

He also pledged that the task force will remain open to all views, and will report the progress to both the public and lawmakers regularly.
