Secretary for Labour & Welfare Matthew Cheung has urged legislators to stop filibustering, saying major welfare policy is awaiting Legislative Council endorsement.

Addressing the media after attending a radio programme today, Mr Cheung said the Low-income Working Family Allowance is an important policy tool by the Government to help the working poor.

He appealed to council members to expedite proceedings so the measure can be implemented next year to help low-income families.
