Chief Secretary Carrie Lam says discussion on the northeast New Territories development plan should end for the time being, so lawmakers can move on to other policies awaiting Legislative Council approval.
Speaking to reporters after a charity event today, Mrs Lam said the funding proposal for the development’s preparation works was approved last week, despite differing views amongst legislators.
She also noted that LegCo President Jasper Tsang said the approval was given in accordance with the legislature's rules and procedures.
She said the development is a huge project and stakeholders, including villagers and LegCo, will be consulted again at other junctures as the plan moves forward.
