Secretary for Development Paul Chan will meet villagers affected by the northeast New Territories development plan in Fanling tomorrow.
Speaking to reporters after a Legislative Council meeting today, Mr Chan said he will listen to villagers’ views on the development.
He said however he cannot withdraw the plan, as it will create 60,000 housing units urgently needed by the city, 60% of which are public housing.
Mr Chan added the Government may not be able meet all the villagers' requests, but it is important to maintain dialogue and seek common ground.
