The Centre for Health Protection was notified of six suspected Middle East Respiratory Syndrome cases from noon yesterday to noon today.
Two cases tested negative for the MERS virus in preliminary testing, while test results for the other four are pending.
No confirmed case of MERS has been identified in Hong Kong.
In view of the latest situation in Korea, the centre urges people to avoid non-essential travel to the country and avoid unnecessary visits to healthcare facilities in places at risk for MERS.
