The Centre for Health Protection recorded five suspected Middle East Respiratory Syndrome cases from noon yesterday to noon today.
Of them, four were negative for the MERS virus in preliminary testing, while the results of the remaining case are pending.
No confirmed case of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome has yet been identified in Hong Kong.
In view of the latest situation in Korea, the centre urges people to avoid non-essential travel to the country and avoid unnecessary visits to healthcare facilities in places at risk for MERS.
