The Department of Health is monitoring five newly reported Middle East Respiratory Syndrome cases in Saudi Arabia.
The patients involved are aged 45 to 64. One has died.
No human cases have been recorded locally.
In addition to the 87 laboratory-confirmed MERS cases in Korea, 1,154 cases have been reported to the World Health Organisation globally, including at least 444 deaths.
The department urged travellers to the Middle East not to visit places where camels are kept and to avoid unnecessary visits to healthcare facilities.
Travel agents organising tours to the Middle East are also advised not to arrange camel rides and activities involving the animals, which may increase the risk of infection.
