The Centre for Health Protection yesterday learned of four new human cases of avian influenza A(H7N9), in Zhongshan, Huizhou, Fujian and Hunan.
The Zhongshan case is a two-year-old girl; the Huizhou case is a woman, 76; the Fujian case is a man, 27. The three are in hospital.
The Hunan case was a 59-year-old man who died yesterday.
As of yesterday, a total of 284 human bird flu cases had been confirmed in the Mainland, in Zhejiang (114 cases), Guangdong (47), Shanghai (41), Jiangsu (36), Fujian (18), Hunan (six), Jiangxi (six), Anhui (four), Henan (four), Beijing (three), Shandong (two), Guangxi (one), Guizhou (one, imported from Zhejiang) and Hebei (one).
