The Centre for Health Protection is monitoring five new human cases of avian influenza A (H7N9) in the Mainland, including two in Guangdong, and one each in Zhejiang, Hunan and Fujian.
The two Guangdong cases involve a 37-year-old man, and a 63-year-old man who died on February 1. The other patients are aged eight to 44.
A total of 280 H7N9 cases have been confirmed in the Mainland. The centre will continue to monitor the situation.
