The Centre for Health Protection received notification yesterday of eight additional human cases of avian influenza A(H7N9) - three in Shenzhen, one in Jiangsu and four in Zhejiang.
The three Shenzhen cases involve three women, aged 31, 41 and 43. All are in hospital.
The Jiangsu case is a 53-year-old man, now in hospital.
The four cases in Zhejiang involve two men, aged 57 and 81, and two women, aged 43 and 63. All are in hospital.
As of yesterday, 254 H7N9 cases have been confirmed in the Mainland.
