3 Mainland H7N9 cases reported

The Centre for Health Protection verified with the National Health & Family Planning Commission today one human case of avian influenza A(H7N9) in Henan and two in Zhejiang.
The Henan case involves a 56-year-old man who is receiving treatment in hospital. His condition is critical. His seven close contacts are asymptomatic so far.
The two cases in Zhejiang involve two women aged 50 and 60 who are receiving treatment in hospital. Their condition is serious.
The Department of Health of Jiangxi Province is investigating a suspected human case of the virus involving a 69-year-old man. Laboratory confirmation by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention is pending.
As of 9pm today, a total of 111 cases have been laboratory confirmed with avian influenza A(H7N9) in the Mainland, including Zhejiang (44 cases), Shanghai (33 cases), Jiangsu (24 cases), Anhui (four cases), Henan (four cases), Beijing (one case) and Shandong (one case).
No human case of the virus has been identified so far in Hong Kong.
