First Taiwan H7N9 case noted

The Centre for Health Protection today noted a confirmed imported human case of avian influenza A(H7N9) in Taiwan involving a 53-year-old man who worked in Suzhou, Jiangsu, from March 28 to April 9.
He is in hospital and his condition is serious.
The centre also verified with the National Health & Family Planning Commission today that no confirmed human case of avian influenza A(H7N9) was reported.
As of 9pm, a total of 108 cases had been laboratory confirmed with avian influenza A(H7N9) on the Mainland, including Zhejiang (42 cases), Shanghai (33 cases), Jiangsu (24 cases), Anhui (four cases), Henan (three cases), Beijing (one case), and Shandong (one case).
No human case of avian influenza A(H7N9) has been identified so far in Hong Kong.
