Chief Executive CY Leung has urged the public to support the proposal for electing the Chief Executive by universal suffrage in 2017, as it is comprehensive and gives Hong Kong more democracy.
Speaking to reporters at the airport tonight, Mr Leung said to elect the Chief Executive by one-person-one-vote is much more democratic than the current arrangement of an election committee.
On whether the national security law could apply in Hong Kong, Mr Leung said the Secretary for Justice has clearly explained the issue.
Mr Leung is heading to Beijing to attend the funeral of former Hong Kong & Macau Affairs Office Director Lu Ping in Beijing tomorrow.
