Chief Executive CY Leung said talks between Government officials and students later today could be a good start to constitutional reform discussions.
Briefing reporters before ExCo meeting today, Mr Leung said the Government will restate its stance on political reform to the public through the talks. He stressed that a one-off dialogue would not resolve controversies on the issue.
He noted that students and other protesters have expressed their opinions on political reform in various ways. The next step will be to narrow the differences in society through dialogues.
As the High Court has granted two temporary injunctions to bar protesters from occupying roads in Mong Kok and Admiralty, he urged protesters to consider the social benefits of complying, as well as their criminal or civil liability for not.
